Vidal Vineyards

STORY

Vidal Vineyards is based in the heart of the luxurious Napa Valley, California, producing wines of exceptional finesse, strength and expression of terroir. The vineyards benefit from a unique composition of soils: decomposed rock, clay and silt soils that provide the right mix of drainage and heat retention, as well as some volcanic soils that amplify the purple fruit flavors in our wines.
Over the years, Vidal Vineyards has grown its operations with a strong focus on cost optimization at all points of the winemaking process. This enables us to offer our valued customers well-crafted, competitively priced Napa Valley wines that do not sacrifice on quality.

The History

The family name Vidal originates from a small village in Spain of the same name. This renowned family had a naval shipping business that produced great wealth for the Vidal family and eventually led to expansion to the U.S.

After immigrating to Napa Valley, California, some members of the Vidal family started growing grape vines in this rich agricultural region they now called home. Vidal Vineyards was started as a boutique winery and the high quality wines they produces were originally reserved for private guests and family friends.

Eventually, their reputation grew over the years, and Vidal’s wine business expanded significantly. The winery started sourcing grapes from other prime vineyards in the area to boost production.  Later, it created a vines-to-wines program which produce specific high-profile wines for unique customers such as wine clubs, corporations, and restaurants.

Most Renowed Vineyards in

Napa Valley

The Napa Valley, located about an hour's drive north of San Francisco, California, is one of the world’s top viticultural regions. With its prized combination of Mediterranean climate and a unique geology, it produces some of the world's best Cabernet Sauvignon wines. Napa Valley was California’s first American Viticulture Area (AVA), established in 1881, with premium wine production beginning in the 1960s.
Vidal Vineyards crafts rich and expressive wines from grapes grown in the Oakville sub appellation of Napa Valley. These top-producing vineyards neighbor the world famous Opus One winery as well as Robert Mondavi winery.  The wines from this region are know for their rich texture, velvety tannins and subtle flavors of mint, black currant and herbs.

Meet Our

Winemaker

Charles Bartlett

Charles Bartlett first arrived in the Napa Valley in the 1970’s and watched this former rural backwater transform into one of the world’s most elite wine destinations, complete with resplendent architecture and top restaurants.

Charles has worked tirelessly in the wine industry, running the “back-end” operations of many prominent wineries of the Napa Valley, gaining years of experience working with the very best Cabernet fruit from Stags Leap, Diamond Mountain, Spring Mountain and Atlas Peak.

Bartlett eventually had the opportunity to run a top Cabernet house entirely to his specifications where he crafted some of his very best wines.

Today, he funnels his four decades of connections, experience and taste making into producing wines under his own label as well as for Vidal Vineyards and other small production wineries.
